Since 2015, designer Humberto Cubides, originally from Barbosa, Santander, created CUBEL—a union of his two surnames—as a way to honor the memory and family legacy of artisanal practices. Humberto has built the brand based on a signature design line that intertwines artistic disciplines, techniques, and multicultural influences. Established in Bogotá, the brand focuses on the exploration of handcrafted work, collaborating with artisan and Indigenous communities, as well as artists with specialized skills. With over 10 years of experience in the fashion industry, his professional training and trajectory have allowed him to experiment with various fashion concepts applied to avant-garde garments. In 2015, he founded CUBEL, a brand that reflects his interest in merging traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary sensibility, betting on avant-garde silhouettes, intervened textiles, and a narrative discourse inspired by Colombia’s ancestral cultures. Since its beginnings, CUBEL has been characterized by reinterpreting traditional garments, giving them a new aesthetic reading through conceptual design and textile experimentation.
