Carmen Busquets is a Venezuelan entrepreneur, strategic investor and philanthropist whose career in the luxury fashion industry spans over three decades. She was the co-founder and largest individual private shareholder of Net-a-Porter, and her other notable investments have included Cult Beauty, where she was also appointed Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Farfetch, Lyst and The Business of Fashion.

From founding the avant-garde luxury fashion boutique Cabus in Caracas in 1990, through launching CoutureLab, a boutique, e-commerce and content platform that promoted fashion-transcending trends and one-off and limited edition handcrafted pieces, in 2006, right up to the present day, Carmen has always valued artisan craftsmanship and cultural heritage as much as innovative technologies.

Carmenbusquets.com is Carmen’s current investment and philanthropic vehicle, a natural continuation of her commitment to experiment and challenge existing ideas. This investment repertoire includes tech-driven venture capital funds such as Imaginary, Felix Susa Ventures and Kindred as well as innovative and disruptive online B2B businesses Platforme, UNMADE, Wishi, Flowerbx and TAGWALK. As part of her mission to expand fashion-tech’s potential to advance sustainable development in the luxury fashion industry she is a consultant and strategic investor to Osomtex which focuses on textile recycling and has co-founded new platforms UPPFIRST and PSYKHE AI to support the internet’s transition to Web3.

In addition to her investments Carmen leverages her entrepreneurial expertise to help non-profit organizations engaged in the conservation of the earth’s natural resources, in sustainable economic development, and in providing education and human rights for all. Carmen is on the Board of Glasswing International, Nest and Parsons School of Design, and a National Council member of WWF.
