Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, her portrait-based work fuses documentary and fashion. She seeks to celebrate the intrinsic beauty of the human body, her Latin American roots, womanhood, youth, and the realities of those around her. Trevale has returned to Venezuela every year since 2017; the escalating crisis there motivated her to produce the series Venezuelan Youth, which was presented at her solo exhibition at ThePrintSpace in London. She has also earned recognition for other projects such as Regreso a Venezuela, Alma Llanera, and more, shown internationally at art fairs including Photo London and SWAB. Her photography has been recognized through being one of the laureates of the Prix Picto de la Photographie de Mode 2024, and she is the co winner of the Photo London Nikon Emerging Photographer Award 2025. Her work has been exhibited at the Palais Galliera in Paris, and notably, one of her images was featured in Vogue 25, a special Vogue Mexico exhibition in Mexico City celebrating iconic images from 25 years of Vogue Mexico. Trevale’s academic journey, pursuing a Master’s degree at Central Saint Martins, has allowed her to delve deeper into her familial roots. Silvana collaborated from afar with the women of her family, and she takes pride in paying tribute to her personal heroines, exemplified by formidable women like her great-grandmother, Cayetana. Alma Llanera, a short film directed by Silvana was shot in Guárico, Venezuela explores Joropo, a genre of music and dance that pulses through the Venezuelan plains. In this vast region known as El Llano, the culture is shaped by the rhythm of hooves, the strum of harp strings, and the stories sung by generations. The land is not only a backdrop but a protagonist, breathing, echoing, and dancing with its people. This work is a love letter to the enduring soul of Guárico and the living tradition of Joropo.
