HEIRLOME

Mexico

Heirlome is a women’s prêt-à-porter collection built on the idea of rescuing forgotten traditions. Founded by Stephanie Suberville and Jeffrey Axford, each collection introduces the work of a new artisan, explored through prints, patterns, weaves, knits, and embroidery. By honoring the authenticity of their craft and combining it with impeccable tailoring, refined details, and the finest fabrics, every piece is created with a focus on quality and longevity.

We believe that knowledge, craftsmanship, and skill are invaluable inheritances. The workshops of the artisans we collaborate with are family-owned, and their craft has been passed down through generations. Heirlome is dedicated to supporting and collaborating with artisans in Mexico and Latin America. These artists employ traditional techniques that demand meticulous precision and painstaking handwork. When creating prints, we honor their art by faithfully reproducing every stroke and imperfection. This approach preserves the authenticity of their work while integrating it into our modern vision of fashion. Heirlome seeks to empower these communities by ensuring the continuity of their heritage and unique artistic forms. Inspired by these artisans, we strive to promote their work by transforming it into wearable art.

Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Stephanie moved to New York in 2004 to study at Parsons School of Design, where she graduated in 2008 and was recognized as Womenswear Designer of the Year. With that collection, she competed at Brussels Weekend L’Vif, alongside students from Central Saint Martins and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.

After gaining extensive experience working for various fashion brands in New York, Stephanie and her husband Jeffrey launched Heirlome with the goal of creating a prêt-à-porter collection while collaborating with artisans from Mexico and Latin America. The couple works together across all aspects of the brand.
