MARGHERITA MACCAPANI MISSONI

Latin American Fashion Awards | jury

Granddaughter of Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, founders of the eponymous fashion house, Margherita Maccapani Missoni worked as an ambassador for the family’s company from 2003. While being the face of Missoni, Margherita studied philosophy at the Università Statale di Milano and at Columbia University in New York, which she disenrolled from to pursue theater and attend acting classes.

After returning to Italy to be creatively involved in the company, in 2010 she became Missoni’s accessories director, under her mother Angela Missoni’s creative direction, which lasted for over 20 years.

In 2011 founded Shall We S.R.L. and created her own children’s wear brand, named Margherita, and eventually collaborated on several projects including suitcases (Away), furniture (Pottery Barn) and women’s wear (Splendid).

In 2018 she rejoined the family firm to take the helm of M Missoni by becoming its Creative Director, role that she held until September 2021.

Since then, she has been pursuing new opportunities, spanning from acting (“Amanda” by Carolina Cavalli) to interior design, but mainly focused her efforts on an entrepreneurial career with her new label Maccapani. A fresh take on the combination of cutting-edge Italian jersey fabrications with the Missoni scion’s post-streetwear, feminocentric philosophy.
